Part of our wall-mounted Relief Series, this design replaces Nevelson’s signature monochromatic black with the honest, raw texture of marine-grade mahogany plywood.
The facade is meticulously milled into a rigid matrix, with each distinct cubby housing a unique topographical relief of projecting shapes, intersecting lines, and recessed voids. This intricate puzzle relies on the shifting angles of the sun to cast deep, architectural shadows across the wood grain throughout the day. Functionally, the enclosed volume behind the grid acts as a weather-protected seed hopper. Below the sculptural facade, a dedicated feeding tray extends outward, providing a spacious and structured perching platform for a variety of birds to gather and feed easily.
