No. 3 - CALDER
Exploring the dynamic tension of Alexander Calder’s sculptural work, this feeder is a masterful study of positive and negative space, grounding the kinetic energy of his suspended mobiles into a bold, architectural stabile. The conceptual anchor of the design relies on a singular, sweeping biomorphic shape extracted directly from a flat primary panel.
The extracted positive form, distinguished by a rhythmic, vertically milled texture, is structurally offset to create the illusion that it is weightlessly floating across the foreground. In striking contrast, the corresponding negative void left behind serves a precise architectural function. It physically opens the structure to the environment, allowing minimalist perches to penetrate the primary plane and providing visiting birds with clear, sheltered access to the internal seed hoppers. This harmonious interplay of solid mass and open volume transforms a high-design conceptual exercise into a highly functional, multi-dimensional feeding station.
Bird Feeder Refilling: Each seed hopper is equipped with a removable round cap, providing quick and effortless access for refilling.
Bird Feeder Placement: As a piece of functional sculpture, the ideal placement for your feeder is entirely at your discretion, designed to complement your home's architecture while inviting the dynamic activity of local birdlife into your daily view. We recommend flush-mounting its flat profile directly to a clear exterior wall, which seamlessly displays the design while naturally deterring squirrels.
What’s In Your Delivered Package: Your feeder arrives fully assembled and ready to hang immediately upon delivery. No assembly is required. We want you to enjoy your purchase, but if you are not completely satisfied, we have a Return and Exchange policy.
Precision-milled and meticulously hand-finished to gallery standards. Made with Premium Marine Grade Mahogany Plywood. Wood grain, color, and texture may vary. Delivered in its raw, natural state.
